The Ministry of Peace Christian Center is Prophecy being unfolded starting with a Word from God. Going from a Home Bible Study, to traveling to 23 Nursing Homes per month, to two store fronts, motels, hotels, a garage, and to this church. The 3rd building would have one exit door without a exit next to a bathroom. Pictured above on right (it has a four foot drop) here it is! The Lord said, "You will Preach my Gospel and build a bigger church".

                 Zechariah 4:10  For who hath despised the day of small things?  Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much, and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

     The Ministry of Peace Christian Center was started in our home in January of 1993 with a rented copy machine. Copies of songs were made to distribute to the elderly when we went to nursing homes to hold church services. God will always test us with a little at first to see what we will do and then He will increase your ministry if you are faithful.

      The first building at 9th & Michigan we were tested beyond tested. We had to give up our apartment in March of 1997 and move into the storefront church. Pastor Michael worked a full-time outside job and Prophetess Shirley worked for a while part-time to keep the ministry going. This storefront was located right in the middle of bar alley, with a strip club two doors down from us. We became known as the Singing Church because the louder they were, the louder we Praised and Worshiped the Lord Jesus Christ.

       We had a garden hose that we had to hold over our heads by an old sink and drain to take a shower. We slept on a very thin old mattress on the floor of this building. There were times we didn't know where our next meal was coming from. We wanted to quit, but something inside of us wouldn't let us give up. Praise the Lord! In June 1997 we were able to move to a old small house in the country with a garage. We began to hold services in the garage until the cold weather came. We were then forced to leave to begin holding services in rented hotel and motel meeting rooms. This continued for quite a while until we were able financially to move into our second building in June 1999. Then after only 1 year at this facility a door opened for us to buy our own church building with only 13 faithful giving members at 13th & Carl Ave. By the Banks standards you need to have at least 50 people to buy a church to properly support it. However, we have some of the best people who believe in God's Word about Giving. And by the way, we do not teach or preach a lot about money. We would pray God would touch their hearts to give cheerfully and generously and He did. We do not believe in persuading people to give, but give them an opportunity to give. So there was much grace with the Bank, Praise be to God and the Lord for His grace!

        Now, we are waiting upon the Lord Jesus Christ to move again by the Grace of God and show us when it is time to build the 4th building. The land is waiting and the building plans are ready but all things must be done according to His season. We know that God wants to bring revival back to the land and take his children home with Him.

    You can have a house built on sand that is six stories high and very beautiful, decorated with the most elaborate materials and craftsmanship. As long as the sun shines, it looks beautiful but if it isn't done with the Glory of God it will not be with His blessing, His will, or Himself within the building. The house of God must be built on something you can't see- a Rock (The Lord Jesus Christ). That is why Pastor Michael and I are waiting upon the Lord to direct our foot steps and build His church.
